In June of 2010, Leslie Ellis and Jeffery Nagle were sentenced before the Clinton County Court of Common Pleas.

Ellis had previously entered a guilty plea for Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs, a third degree felony. Similarly, Nagle had already entered a guilty plea for Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs within the Vicinity of a Juvenile, a crime which constitutes a felony of the second degree under Ohio law.

After hearing oral arguments by the prosecution and defense and weighing the seriousness of the offenses in each case, the court determined that Nagel and Ellis were not suitable candidates for community control sanctions. Instead, in order to adequately punish the defendants and protect the public from future crime, both Nagel and Ellis were sentenced to mandatory prison terms of five years.

On August 5, 2009, the Clinton County Grand Jury met, at the request of Clinton County Prosecutor Rick Moyer, to inquire into the death of Diana Jean Crum. Ms. Crum lived at 495 East Locust Street, Apt. F, Wilmington, Ohio. She was murdered in May of 1993. At the time of her murder, evidence was gathered and forward to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab. Throughout the period of time after her death, Chief Hatten of the City of Wilmington Police Department kept the investigation open. Police Detective Brian Kratzer and Investigator Bill Hidy of the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the case on a regular basis. A break in the murder of Ms. Crum came when scientific evidence became known that led the investigation to a suspect. That suspect, Terrin R. Long, was indicted on two counts of Murder, one count of Involuntary Manslaughter, and one count of Felonious Assault. Mr. Long was arrested this morning, August 6, 2009, in Wilmington, Ohio.

On June 18th, 2008, Daniel Moshos appeared before the Clinton County Court of Common Pleas for sentencing. Previously, Moshos had been convicted after a four day jury trial of public indecency, two counts of gross xexual imposition and attempted rape. During the course of the trial, victims had testified to sexual harassment and repeated sexual assaults by Moshos. Several of those assaults took place in Moshos’ medical office where the victims had been sent by their employers for exams after work related injuries.

At the sentencing hearing, citing the breach of trust as well as the lasting physical and emotional impact these crimes had on the victims, the State requested the Judge impose a sentence totaling nine years. After arguments by both sides, the Court imposed the minimum sentence of two years for the attempted rape, and six months each for the gross sexual imposition charges and ordered all sentences be run consecutively for a total of three years.

During the investigation, it was also revealed that Moshos had been terminated from a prior employer shortly after several patients made complaints alleging sexual harassment by Moshos.
